South Sac Eats...One Of These Days

Unread post by Pounce! » Fri May 29, 2015 4:11 am

For some tasty cheap eats there's TK Noodle
http://www.yelp.com/biz/tk-noodle-sacramento
(quite popular in Silicon Valley)

and Groupon currently has a deal for Vampire Penguin (growing in region)
https://www.groupon.com/deals/vampire-penguin
http://www.yelp.com/biz/vampire-penguin-sacramento-2
(ready for warmer weather? eat shaved snow!)

These are both in the Stockton Blvd and Florin Rd areas.

I was tempted to stop by TK Noodle last time I did a grocery trip to Shun Fat. It looks like a pretty ordinary noodle house. Anyway it's a really convenient location for me.

I've driven by TK Noodle a bunch, but it's always just looked like a generic noodle place to me. I might have to check them out! Just not this weekend...

Since we're still trying to figure out a meet maybe we could go ahead and do it this weekend.

It looks fine to me but unfortunately I checked the menu and my brother wouldn't eat there. Since I'm busy next Saturday I really want to have dinner with him tomorrow so if you guys would like to do TKNoodle this week we'll just have to go elsewhere on our own.

Waiting a few weeks is fine. It'll give me a chance to check it out first.

Your brother is weird. He must be a furry.

Nothing great about them yet with over a dozen places, TK Noodle means, cheap, order at the counter fast, huge item menu , nostalgic taste for asian programmers missing "home" cooked meals.

But I'm really after this popular VP dessert.

Yeah I want to try that thing too! People rave about it on Yelp. They have others that sound good too.

We could also totally do it on a sunday. When I'm free. Sunday would totally be awesome for that :3

I just stopped by and got some chow fun. I wasn't impressed but this is mostly a soup place.

Vampire Penguin was pretty nice. It looks like they shave the snow from flavored ice blocks instead of squirting syrup onto unflavored shaved ice, so it retains a fluffy snowy texture and has an even distribution of flavor. $3+tax buys a small (really quite reasonably sized) one topping.
"Vampire Penguin is a penguin who lives in the North Pole. Even though there aren't any other penguins in the North Pole, Vampire Penguin ives there because he is a vampire. His best friend is a walrus who thinks he is also a vampire. But behind Vampire Penguin's nonchalant eyes, he truly misses his family and longs to be with them, so he continuously rolls flavorful snow to bring families and friends together" -Vampire Penguin Manifesto fact 1 pargraph 1 clause 1

Oop I just now saw this. Yeah Vampire Penguin is HELLA BOMB. I've only been there once, but if I had more money for a good desert (and if I'm in the area), I will definitely go there again!

There's currently a groupon for VP.
I stared into the void, but it never called me back.

I picked up one of those Vampire Penguin Groupons, so I'm up for going. Its for $10 and I'm not sure Jim will want to go (might be too weird for him? I never know), so if not I may need someone to share it with me. 8:) I also grabbed a Rick's Dessert Diner in case we ever go down that way (otherwise of course I'll just go myself).
